it all seems so playful and cutsie wootsie to an insider i suppose, i am seeing posts all over facebook about how this is just what my kid needs.. this is truly proper food at the proper time blah blah blah blomit blomit vomit vomit... the funniest part is however is that it cuts out at the end by saying "let's practice what you are going to say".. .
why not make the video longer and discuss how you can get an idea for a 6 year old on how to talk to a grown person about how they are going to die unless you study the bible with me..

Was I like the only JW who went out with just a Bible and some tracts? I thought we were meant to be telling folks about the Bible, so I always had my presentation from the Bible, unless I felt really lazy and felt like 'magazining'.
after taking a few steps back and really taking a look at the really zealous people and fairly intelligent people i knew in the j.w.
community and adding myself into this lump of people i realized something.
for anyone who wants to be seen as a very religious person - completely dedicated to god(or atleast give that impression to onlookers), this is the perfect religion.. .

It's not a simple question to answer. For the born-ins, they know nothing else and take it in with their mothers' milk. For converts, we are shielded from the reality of the organisation until it is too late. We come in because it gives us something we need at that point in our life, or we are wooed by talk of a world free of injustice, and the congregation seems perfect at first. We learn a little bit about the religion, and if we really want to please God, we think this is the way to do it, and before you know it, you're on the treadmill.
That's how people allow themselves to fall into this mess of thinking: that's how cults work.

i don't know exactly why because he hasn't turned apostate and still seems to believe jw things.
i don't feel comfortable in asking him why he doesn't go to meetings anymore for some reason, or find out what he believes and if the things i've told him bout ttatt influenced his decision.

He left in about 2001 a few years after he was baptised but still believed deep down and went back 7 years later. I hope he's out for good this time. I reckon he needs something else to believe in, or the full TTATT.

did you find jws more productive than non-jws and more honest and outgoing for your business expansion?
the watchtower tries to state that jws are in high demand because of their honesty, you think the world is smarting up and realizing they are just regular people who follow men?
Well I can tell you I've worked for JW bosses and they can be just as evil as 'worldly' bosses. They smile and love you at the Hall though, and you can't just quit the job without causing a ruckus in the congregation.
As for hiring them? I'd treat them on merit, like I would any other prospective employee. Can they do the job? Do they have a good work ethic? Are they qualified? I wouldn't discriminate if that's what you mean, unless I needed someone to work Saturday and Sunday mornings, for which they wouldn't be available.
not many people are aware that there is a third korea, in addition to what we call south korea and north korea.. only oceans form effective borders, other-wise ethnic groups straddle borders.
and, along the yalu river, which forms much of the border between north korea and china, we find on the chinese side of the river, a large korean population in china's dong-bei (the north-east).

There has been Korean ethnic people there for centuries. Now the North Koreans flee to there. They hate their regime and are terrified of being caught by the Chinese police and sent back.

this is the second close encounter i've had, (both involving someone driving a pickup truck).
in this case, a couple of seconds made a huge difference, since i may have been directly hit had i just been a bit further along in my drive.. i would imagine that once a few days pass, i'll give less and less thought to the incident and i doubt it will precipitate major changes in my life or outlook (which i generally think is pretty healthy).

It's a good story, but as it's quite unusual, telling it would most definitely 'out' me to any lurking loyalists so I won't tell it.
